A Virtual Sharing Conservation Strategies in the Upper Delaware River watershed
Orange, Sullivan and Delaware Counties, NY
The conservation organizations who are partners in the Poconos Kittatinny Cluster (PKC) under the Delaware River Watershed Initiative (DRWI) are gathering again to discuss conservation strategies in New York. PKC partners working in the New York state portion of the landscape include: Delaware Highlands Conservancy, Pinchot Institute for Conservation, Natural Lands and Orange County Land Trust. PKC includes portions of Sullivan and Orange Counties in NY.
Part of this process is sharing our mutual long-term visions with Federal, State, County and other nonprofit agencies with an interest in conservation.
We have scheduled a virtual meeting for Wednesday, October 14th, 2020 at 9:00 am, to discuss current and future conservation priorities by organization and as a group.
Following is a draft agenda:
8:45 – 9:00: “Virtual Conference Lobby” Grab your coffee and catch up!
9:00 – 9:15: Introductions
9:15: Discussion of goals for the meeting; presentation of PKC’s DRWI Phase II milestones, adjusted timeline, activities and technical assistance available
10:00 – 11:00: Presentation by each organization (approximately 5 – 7 minutes) in attendance of their current organizational conservation priorities. Organizations and agencies are welcome to discuss specific projects which might benefit from the input of attendees but the intent of this section is to share each organization's and agency's priorities for the purpose of identifying where there is overlap and opportunities for collaboration with Phase II, year 4 of the DRWI.
11:00-12:00: Breakout sessions on land protection, municipal planning and the Neversink Watershed plan that would benefit from collaboration
